I had always wanted a small lap dog and had been looking for a maltese for some time with no luck. I was about to give up looking when I finally was given the contact details a lovely lady in Thurso named Evelyn who bred maltese and who's bitch had just had puppies.

Only one puppy was available, so I was very lucky to get her contact details in time.

After a trip to the vet, Evelyn discovered Bella had a heart murmur and we were unsure how long she would live.

It was very kind of Evelyn to be so honest, as so many breeders would not of done this.I decided I definitely still wanted her and collected her a couple of weeks later. I took Bella to the vet when I came home and she also said it was a 'serious heart murmur' and that I should Know Bella may only last a couple of weeks, maybe a few months at most, but be prepared that one day we could wake up and Bella would be gone

A couple of weeks later Bella went back for her second injection and we saw the senior vet in charge of the practise. He confirmed that Bella had a heart murmur but her pulse was excelant and apart from the murmur she was in very good health, and saw no reason why if she continues like that she shouldnt live a happy life and possibly be spayed at 8 months

VET UPDATE 2003

Bella saw the vet at the end of November 2003 and had a great report! Her murmur is still there but her chest and lungs are both clear and the vet believes bella will have a long and happy life. At the moment bella needs no medication but if her heart gets worse in years to come the vet has sais there are plenty of medications that will help her for many years!

Ive yet to meet someone that doesnt love Bella or want to take her home so decided to share some of Bellas Pictures.
